Autumn League Overall Results 2014 And Upcoming Events

The club wishes to congratulate Noel Coen on his election as Captain for 2015.

Saturday 22nd & 23rd November: Final Round of Autumn League:

Round 4: winner: Gerry Connaughton, Gross: JP. Walsh;
Round 5: winner: Joe Burke, Gross: John Gannon;
Round 6: winner: Kevin Duffy, Gross: Joe Glennon;
Round 7: winner: Martin Burke, Gross: Peter Morrow;
Congrats to the overall Nett Winner Martie Healy and the overall Gross Winner is John Gannon.
There will be 3 Christmas Hampers competitions held over the next 3 weekends, starting on Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th November. (18 holes stableford).
On Friday 19th Saturday 20th and 21st December a 9 holes mixed scramble will be held.
Presentation of outstanding prizes will be held on Sunday 21st December at 6pm in the clubhouse.

Mens Competition Results 27/28 Sept ’14.

The following are the results from the mens club 18 holes stableford run on Sat and Sun 27th and 28th September 2014.

Our County Trophy finished 2nd to Tuam on Saturday. Well done to all concerned for coming so close.

September Club Am Am

The club held a very successful AmAm from Monday 15th to Sunday 21st September.
The team of 4 that won the green fees to Westport Golf Club along with an overnight stay including breakfast for 4 in the Westport Woods Hotel were:
Winners: Miko Jordan 18, Matt Linehan 18, Hugh Tobin 13 & Martin Farrell 22 who had 102pts.
2nd: Frank Farragher, Colm Farragher, Jimmy Connolly & Sean Mulryan 102pts.
3rd: Iggy O’Brien, Mick Connolly, Michael McPhilips & M. Clarke 102pts.
4th: Noel Simmons, Geoff Kirby, Damien McHugh & M. Finn 101pts (last 6).
5th: Dinny Noone, Gerry Connaughton, Michael Connaughton, Colm Kavanagh
101pts. Non GUI Prize Winners: Noel Coen, Aidrean Forde, Tom Boyle, Jimmy McHugh 100pts.

The County Galway Trophy will be held in Mountbellew Golf Club on Saturday, 27th September. We thank James Glynn for asking the club to host this prestigious event which has been in existence since 1927. The club looks forward to welcoming all the visiting teams.

 

Mens Competition Results 13/14 Sept – Tony McCormack Car Sales

The Men’s Final Golfer of the Year Competition was held on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September. It was sponsored by Tony McCormack’s Garage in Mountbellew.
John Molloy 18 had a fantastic score of 45pts to win from Bernie Rattigan 17 who had 42pts; Noel Donnellan won the gross with 34pts; John Gannon 13, came 3rd with 41pts and John Connaire 19, came 4th with 41.
These results mean that Noel Donnellan wins the Gross Golfer of The Year Prize while John Gannon wins the Nett Golfer of The Year Prize. Congrats to both on a wonderful year of golf.

Mens Competition Results 6/7 Sept – ProGolf Athlone

On Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th September The ProGolf(Athlone) sponsored 18 holes stableford competition proved to be a very popular event.

Winner: Peter Donnellan 13, 39pts; 2nd: Anthony Jacob 12, 38pts; Gross: Noel Donnellan 6, 30pts; 3rd: Martin Hennelly 12, 37pts.

Once again thank you to ProGolf for their generosity. Next weekend the final “Golfer of Year” competition takes place and is sponsored by McCormacks of Mountbellew.
